How much does it cost to incorporate a Sdn Bhd in Malaysia (SSM fees)?
SSM's own fee is RM1,000 to incorporate a company limited by shares, plus RM50 for each 30-day name reservation (unless you use direct incorporation). Your total will also include the company secretary and any professional fees, which are not set by SSM.
Official SSM fees (Companies Regulations 2017, as listed by MIDA and SSM guidelines):
- Name reservation: RM50 for every 30 days or part of it, up to 180 days.
- Incorporation of a company limited by shares: RM1,000.
- Company limited by guarantee: RM3,000.
- Unlimited company: RM1,000.
If you apply for the name and incorporation together (direct incorporation), the application fee is the RM1,000 incorporation fee. SSM's Table of Fees also lists RM20 for issuing any certificate or a copy of a certificate relating to a company (item 45), RM10 to certify a document lodged with the Registrar (item 41) and RM30 to lodge an amendment to the constitution (item 5).
Other costs you may meet (not SSM fees, and they vary by provider):
- Company secretary's yearly fee and set-up fee.
- Registered office address service, if you do not use your own premises.
- Optional constitution, company seal or stamps.
- Business bank account and licences for your sector.
SSM can change its fees, so confirm against SSM's current Table of Fees before you budget. Be wary of any quote that bundles statutory fees without showing them separately.
